Outreach

We cooperate with society, combining their skills and experiences with the academic knowledge and innovations that are developed in our classrooms and laboratories. In this way, we generate practical and sustainable solutions to improve the conditions of local communities.

As part of these actions, our students carry out their outreach credits (community service), that is, they design projects and prototypes whose implementation contributes to improve citizens wellbeing. Between 2013 and 2018, more than 43 thousand people were directly benefited by the outreach projects.

Currently, we focus our efforts on 9 institutional outreach programs (community service):

Enhancement of the sustainable development at La Unión

With the collaboration of the private sector and other institutions of higher education, we seek to contribute to the sustainability of the social and solidarity economic system of La Union, located in the Durán canton, through the impulse of labor skills.

We train the women of the sector in social entrepreneurship, advise the inhabitants in shrimp farming techniques, design a community banking model, implement environmental sanitation strategies and design digital tools that reinforce the initial education processes.
